As the countdown continues to the Glasgow Tigers’ 2020 Open Tryouts to kick off the new season, the club are delighted to announce support from the Sports Council for Glasgow towards the events.

A grant of £200 will go towards the cost of hiring Toryglen Regional Football Centre for the tryouts, giving any new and returning Tigers the chance to practice in state-of-the-art facilities during the winter months.

The Tigers kicked off last season with a similar series of tryout events at Toryglen, bringing in a number of new players to the sport and giving the coaches the chance to start working with the squad despite the freezing weather.

Support for the Tigers' 2020 Open Tryouts will come from the Sports Council for Glasgow

Toryglen, opened in 2009, sits in the shadow of Hampden Park and has been used by a number of junior, amateur and professional sides for all-weather training across a number of full-sized, FIFA approved pitches.

The Sports Council for Glasgow works with clubs across the city, providing them with an effective voice across all sports. The council works closely with both Glasgow Life and Glasgow City Council to represent and support Glasgow’s sport clubs.

At the Sports Council’s recent awards evening, the Tigers earned the Best Social Media Presence award as well as a Highly Commended honour for youth coach Lewis Allison.
