The Glasgow Tigers know who they will be facing in 2020 after the division alignments were announced by the British American Football Association.

Returning to our schedule from last year will be defending NFC1 North Champion Northumberland Vikings and the division’s second playoff team from 2019, the East Kilbride Pirates along with fellow Scots the Aberdeen Roughnecks.

With the Yorkshire Academy Rams moving to the NFC1 South, the division welcomes the Preston-based Lancashire Wolverines and Division 1 newcomers the Inverclyde Goliaths following their debut-season promotion.

Reorganisation of the divisions brings the Lancashire Wolverines back to the NFC1 North after one year in the conference’s Southern division. The Tigers will be out for revenge following the return of an old rival after suffering defeats in both outings against the Wolverines in 2018.

Inverclyde’s promotion means the Tigers will face less time on the road in 2020 – with a relatively short hop of just 25 miles to the Goliaths home ground, compared to a mammoth 157-mile trip to play relegated side Gateshea Senators this year.

After finishing the season in fourth place, the Tigers will hope to improve on that record as Head Coach Ryan McCluskey goes into his second year with the team. Fixtures for the new season will be released in November for what should be a keenly-contested division once again.

With offseason workouts well under way, the Tigers will return to pre-season training for the 2020 season in January. Make sure to follow the Tigers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for all the key dates, including information on our rookie sessions to kick off the year.
